If a store clerk says “Happy Holidays” to you instead of “Merry Christmas,” is that representative of a war on Christians? Perhaps we should compare the American situation to that of our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world, where a real war on Christians is underway.

According to a recent story from ChristianHeadlines.com, “Canon Andrew White, the so-called Vicar of Baghdad has released a new update on Iraqi Christians as ISIS extremists control parts of the country. White said four young Christians were recently killed by ISIS after the militants demanded they convert to Islam.”

White reported: “Islamic State turned up and said to the children, you say the words that you will follow Mohammed. The children, all under 15, four of them, said no, we love Yesua (Jesus), we have always loved Yesua, we have always followed Yesua, Yesua has always been with us. They said, ‘Say the words.’ They said, ‘No, we can’t.’ They chopped off all their heads. How do you respond to that? You just cry.”

As Christians in the West enjoy the season of Advent and the celebration of Christmas this year, let’s keep in prayer our fellow believers in many parts of the world, where faith in Christ carries a real cost.
