The Abingdon African-American Preaching Library, Volume 1
Reviewed On: September 01, 2006

Kirk Byron Jones, who wrote the interesting The Jazz of Preaching, is the editor of (and significant contributor to) The Abingdon African-American Preaching Library, Volume 1 (Abingdon Press). While the newly-released Library offers a variety of preaching aids, it is not a mirror of the many annual preaching manuals now available. It does contain sermon outlines and ideas for the Christian year, along with some helpful essays about the preaching task.
