The largest building in the world is the Pentagon—devoted to war. The second-largest is the palace that President Ceacescieu of Romania built for himself. It is devoted to greed and vanity. (He was executed before he ever occupied it.) To build it, he demolished 26 churches and 700 homes. It had 1 million square feet of marble, and 300 architects worked on the building.
