Police in Clinton, New Jersey are trying to solve a major mystery: where did the duck go?

A giant (5 feet 4 inches) inflatable rubber duck has gone missing from a local pond. It was last seen during the town’s annual rubber duck race.

According to a July 22 UPI story, “the Hunterdon County Crime Stoppers are offering a $250 reward for the duck’s return. Clinton Guild President Diane Crisman-Race said were able to pin down a timeframe when it may have gone missing.

“We’ve pinned it down to after 10 p.m. and before 8:20 a.m. Monday,” she said. “Sometime during that time period the duck went missing.”
