One of my favorite commentary series is the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture, which draws on the insights of early church leaders to better understand biblical texts. Now, a related resource is available, the
Ancient Christian Devotional (InterVarsity Press), edited by Cindy Crosby. Using those same writings by early church fathers, the volume offers a year of weekly devotional readings. I plan to incorporate this into my own regular devotional readings in the coming year.
