Bible in Pastoral Practice
By Paul Ballard and Stephen R. Holmes
Reviewed On: July 01, 2007
In The Bible in Pastoral Practice (Eerdmans), Paul Ballard and Stephen R. Holmes have compiled a series of readings by a diverse collection of authors, all focused on how the Bible has been and can be used in the practice of ministry. It’s an interesting and useful book, though readers will find the essays of varying interest depending on their own theological perspective. Readers of Preaching will recognize contributors like Michael Quicke (whose article series begins in this issue) and Derek Tidball, who spoke at the International Congress on Preaching in Cambridge
