Preaching The Women Of The Bible
Reviewed On: November 01, 2006

Preaching The Women Of The Bible (Chalice) by Lisa Wilson Davison is an attempt, in the author’s words, “to give voice to some of the female characters in the Bible, specifically through the spoken word of the sermon.” While the preacher will find useful insights and ideas for preaching here, the evangelical reader will quickly become aware that this work is flavored by a feminist hermeneutic of suspicion that impacts how Davison (a professor of Old Testament at Lexington Theological Seminary) handles the biblical material.
