Confessing Jesus Christ: Preaching In A Postmodern World
Reviewed On: May 01, 2006

Preachers wrestling with the challenges of postmodern thought will appreciate the insights of Davd J. Lose in his book Confessing Jesus Christ: Preaching In A Postmodern World (Eerdmans). Lose, who teaches homiletics at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, believes that postmodern culture offers the church an opportunity to stand once again on faith alone, rather than on attempts to prove the faith. It's not a quick read and you won't agree with the author on all points, but this is a volume that will spark new insights on preaching in our postmodern setting.
