Drawing on years of leadership experience in the local church, Eric Geiger and Kevin Peck’s new book Designed to Lead: The Church and Leadership Development (B&H Publishing) is designed to help Christians understand the basic principles of leadership and then to put them into practice. They provide a three-part framework for leadership development: Conviction (passion and vision), Culture (identity), and Constructs (systems, processes and programs). “We wrote this book,” say the authors, “because we love the church. Our hope is that churches will move from merely existing to embracing their design to lead – and then go forth and serve the world as they represent Christ and reconcile people to Him.”
